UCW launches Report on Child Labor and Youth Employment

Understanding Children’s Work (UCW), an inter-agency research programme of the ILO, UNICEF and World Bank launched its report on Understanding Child Labor and Youth Employment Outcomes in the Philippines on 2 February 2016 at The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros.

Understanding Children’s Work (UCW), an inter-agency research programme of the ILO, UNICEF and World Bank launched its report on Understanding Child Labor and Youth Employment Outcomes in the Philippines on 2 February 2016 at The Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros.
Data from the 2011 Survey on Children and 2013 Labor Force Survey were utilized in the preparation of the report which discussed the extent, causes and consequences of child labor.
Furio Rosati of UCW presented the highlights of the report while DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz shared the different initiatives of the Department to address child labor during the panel discussion. Other panelists were Pablo Acosta of World Bank, Jesus Far of UNICEF, Giovanni Soledad of ILO and Mark Bercando of DepEd. A press conference moderated by DOLE Undersecretary Nicon Fameronag followed with Secretary Baldoz and Mr. Rosati as resource persons.
