The Gift that Keeps on Giving

DOLE Cavite celebrated its 8th year of implementation of Project Angel Tree in the province. The program is a manifestation of the joint efforts between government and the private sector in keeping children away from dangerous workplaces. Strong public-private partnership can ensure an effective progress in the elimination of child labor in the province of Cavite. The program had gone too far, partners from private companies had gift in their hearts that keeps on giving to these children for eight fruitful years.

During the Christmas season, it is the time that the holiday season presents the distinct joys of giving and receiving gifts. However, it is very important to remember the people who made the wishes of former child laborers possible. Project Angel Tree is one of the DOLE’s programs that grant the wishes of child laborers.

DOLE Cavite celebrated its 8th year of implementation of Project Angel Tree in the province. The program is a manifestation of the joint efforts between government and the private sector in keeping children away from dangerous workplaces. Strong public-private partnership can ensure an effective progress in the elimination of child labor in the province of Cavite. The program had gone too far, partners from private companies had gift in their hearts that keeps on giving to these children for eight fruitful years.

The annual Christmas Party and gift-giving activity was held at Locators Hall, FCIE Admin. Building, Bo. Langkaan, Dasmariñas City on 11 December 2015. Part of the celebration were fun games and gift-giving activity to former child laborers sponsored by companies such as Can Asia, Inc., Cavite Nagano Seiko Inc., CTAT Cargo Movers, Inc., Golden Manna Manpower Services, HDK Philippines Inc., JAE Philippines Inc., Ingo Manufacturing Philippines, Inc., Liwayway Marketing Corporation, Mitsuba Philippines Corporation, Notre Dame School of Trece Martires, Nozomi Fortune Services, Inc., Philippine Advanced Processing Technology Inc. (PAPTI), ROHM Mechatech Philippines, Inc., San Miguel Fuso Molds Corporation, San Miguel Yamamura Asia Corporation, Semitec Electronics Philippines, Corporation, Universal Robina Corporation (URC)-Cavite and Yumex Philippines Corporation.

Director Ignacio S. Sanqui, Jr. of Cavite Provincial Office graced the event and delivered his inspirational message during the activity. On his message, he iterated that this is one of the challenges of the Province, to cater another 5 barangays for child-labor-free barangays (CLFB) program of DOLE to eliminate child labor. He also thanked Children’s Helper Project Inc. from Cavite City, Shoreline Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran Inc. from Naic, Cavite and Confederation of Labor and Allied Social Services-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (CLASS-TUCP) for their compassionate commitment in guiding and taking care of the children.
