Lebak, Sultan Kudarat – In Region 12, a total of 136 displaced workers from different barangays, this municipality received their own DOLE Kabuhayan Starter Kits under the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) amounting to P1,122, 884.00.
DOLE XII Assistant Regional Director Naomi Lyn C. Abellana who personally handed over the starter kits to beneficiaries urged them to make use of it and uplift their families from poverty.
“What we gave you are quality power tools, please utilize it properly because nobody is poor unless you manage your life well, to our children beneficiaries please make good grades for your parents and for your future,” ARD Abellana said.
Livelihood starter kits received include carpentry tools, cooking equipment, power tools, and materials for rice cake making, halo-halo, mat weaving, pedicure/manicure and fishing.
Barangays Poblacion 1 and Salaman also received their DILEEP Livelihood checks through their community leaders who expressed gratitude to DOLE for the assistance
LGU-Lebak Executive Secretary Henry Vegas who represented Mayor Dionesio Besana said that the strong linkage between the municipal government and DOLE made it all possible.
“We will continue to converge with DOLE to help more residents of Lebak,” Vegas said. This is only a beginning of more blessings to come to our town Vegas added.
Earlier, DOLE XII OIC-RD Albert E. Gutib said that the agency will continue to converge with different stakeholders to effectively implement programs and services which will benefit marginalized sectors.
Beneficiaries of Project Angel Tree from Barangays Pansud, Purikay and Salaman also received 27 school bags from different benefactors.
A total of 95 pupils of Keytodac Central Elementary School and 31 students of Tapudi Integrated National High School this municipality were also beneficiaries of Project Angel Tree.
