In line with the celebration of the Children’s Month with the theme “BRIGHT CHILD ay Siguraduhin, Responsableng Pamamahayag ay Palaganapin”, the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) – South Cotabato, spearheaded an advocacy run dubbed “Dalagan Para Sa Kabataan” held last October 16, 2012.
As member of the Council, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12 participated in the 5K fun run led by South Cotabato Provincial Governor and PCPC Chair Arthur Y. Pingoy, Jr.
A physical fitness exercise and raffle draw sponsored by the Governor capped the advocacy run participated in by approximately a thousand including students, police and military personnel, non-government organizations and member-agencies of the PCPC.
Subsequently, the Save the Children in coordination with the PCPC sponsored a marathon for children ages 11-15 dubbed Run for Survival which was simultaneously conducted in 40 countries.
The presence of Save the Children’s celebrity ambassador Bayani Agbayani made the event more memorable especially to the children. Mr. Agbayani, together with the PCPC members visited the photo exhibit held at Gaisano Grand Mall in Koronadal City in the afternoon.
