Hail the Most Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities

On its 9th year of recognition for the most child friendly municipalities and cities, the Council with the Search’s National Awards Committee and National Screening Board paid tribute to the winners.

This Search for Child Friendly Cities and Municipalities means a lot to local government units (LGUs).  It gives them the much needed boost to put children at the center of planning and resource allocation.

President Benigno S. Aquino III salutes the local governments of Mariveles, Bataan (1st-3rd class municipality); Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya (4th-6th class municipality); Mandaluyong City (Highly Urbanized City) and Santiago City (Independent Component City) who will receive the 2011 Presidential Awards for their outstanding efforts in promoting and protecting child rights to survival, development, protection and participation.  Vigan City is Hall of Fame Awardee (three consecutive years of progressive children’s program implementation.
