After validation of the alleged child labor activity, DOLE Rizal Provincial Office headed by Mr. Enrico S. Sagmit conducted an Advocacy Program on Child Labor Prevention and Elimination on July 23, 2011 at Brgy. Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal.

Sta. Ines is the northernmost mountain barangay of Tanay, Rizal.  It lies on the foothills of Sierra Madre Mountains and isbordered by Antipolo City in the northeast and General Nakar (Quezon Province) in the east.

Iron-ore deposits are not only found in rivers but also in nearby mountains. A child laborer uses shovel to dig iron-ore.

The advocacy program with 239 participants in attendance was gathered at the Barangay Multi-Purpose Covered Court.  Elementary and  high school students, parents of child laborers, interested residents, barangayofficials, Dumagats and Remontados (Indigenous People), and Tribal Chieftains are the participants of the said activity.  Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 2ndInfantry Division provided security during the whole duration of the activity.
